So you still plug it in to the outlet in your kitchen, or is that just every once in a while to charge? Are you ever slightly inconvenienced by it being low on battery? Also, can you purchase a replacement battery when it eventually lowers it's life cycles? Yeah, I assumed the 'portability', although heavily marketed, would be uncommon mainly due to the convenience of just having a kitchen to make/clean everything. Otherwise, buying one without a warranty is a waste of money as it will definitely break in some way, shape or form. All in all, the BlendJet 2 with a warranty is a great offer if you use it correctly and know the limits. Also in the you will constantly have to remove it when cleaning which can be a little annoying. I know they say its water proof and all but trust me it really does not protect it. When you wash them be extra careful with any water getting near the port. These things in my opinion are not meant to last the test of time and will break. If you are gonna buy one please buy it with a warranty. My brother honestly just resorted to using the regular blender as opposed to the 2 simply because there would be times it got stuck when it really should not of gotten stuck. Though don't expect it to blend everything as it does struggle a lot with certain frozen fruits. They worked pretty well when we first got them and I was pretty surprised. It would glow and glow but never actually charge. My brothers just simply stopped charging. For my blender it would appear as if too much water got into the usb slot and eroded something, hence the strange blue greenish substance all over the usb port. I bought one for myself and my brother and both of ours stopped working. I have had my BlendJet 2 for about 4 months now and pretty sad to say the least. I could probably look into removing it and getting a replacement for the barrel but it's served its purpose for me and now it's time for some bigger and brighter blenders ahaha :) I think it's like 80% of the product I wanted it to be and I use it every day for delicious protein shakes, but I'm really hoping they're on their way to a Blendjet 3 that's powerful enough to cut through ice and then it'd probably be the last blender I'd ever buy (and maybe even an XL version that's just like 30% larger)!Įdit 2: It's been 3 years since I made this post and yesterday it finally gave out on me! I dropped it from truly a foot above the ground after years of use and strain and the threading snapped off and got stuck within itself so it no longer attaches. Wash it frequently with soap, but honestly it leaks if you don't perfectly have the bottom seal aligned, so if it is aligned for you, I just would leave it as is and only open the lid to add some soap and to clean it! The charge is good enough and I find that if I have some really thick spread of whatever it's blending that shaking it a little while it's getting started allows the motor to not give up so quickly. The general consensus between my own experience and commenters is that if you're using it exclusively for single serving smoothies made of soft things (nut butters, frozen berries/ bananas, whey powders, etc.) with no ice, you're going to love it! Otherwise, it's pretty much useless. NGL I keep getting Instagram ads for it and for the first time it's kinda working.Įdit: It's been over a year since I made this post and I figured I'd give a quick update to help out future people. Anyone have experience with the Blendjet 2? My apartment has the tiniest kitchen ever and I'm not a huge smoothie person historically, but I've been craving them and I'm wondering if this would be a good micro-kitchen solution or if it's a piece of garbage and I should just get a bullet blender :P If people like it though I might consider buying a few as gifts!

"I've submitted a ticket raising the concerns of the community to Epic Customer Service and outlining the animation accusations. The developer has also contacted Epic Customer Service to echo the sentiments of the community. "The only other things from the Epic Marketplace that I use for generic VFX that was a waste of time to make since I'd make things that looked virtually the same anyway, and things that are so generic (like some rocks) that didn't require artistic direction." The marketplace was used to fill in generic art and was still edited to fit in the general needs of the art direction - about 10% of the total game art is from there.”Īnother developer known as ‘ubermensch42’ on the game’s Discord channel chimed in with their own explanation. “We're willing to rework things if there's something amiss going on in the marketplace but we've received no notification from Epic and we too are their customers. Any other question or concern should be taken up with Epic themselves.” “We've heard this comment before, but you can buy the animations yourself if you want as they are publicly available and have been for a long time. “Any animations not made in-house are from the Epic Marketplace and have been up there for years, rigged to an Epic Skeleton,” said one of the developers known as Rola on the Steam Forums recently. They claimed the assets were purchased from the Unreal Engine Marketplace for "animations that are good and fit our theme". 9JHGMeu9asĭevelopers Archangel Studio have responded to the allegations on the Steam Forums and on Discord. I do NOT condone people using my DS Anim Studio software to aid in exporting animations to include in commercial products or sell them on Epic Games Store. Bleak Faith: Forspoken is 100% using animations ripped directly 1:1 from Elden Ring. Rather than taking inspiration from FromSoftware titles, they appear to have been extracted straight from the game using the DSAnimStudio software, and then subtly tweaked. While many games have used animations that are inspired by other games, such as Genshin Impact's similarities to Nier Automata, these appear to be in a distinct category. One character has been compared to Malenia and the Abyss Watchers. Comparisons have been made between Bleak Faith’s claymore attack animation and Elden Ring’s uchigatana and straight sword. How to use Apple Pay on a Mac for more details. There’s also full integration for Apple Pay, making it easy to buy items online either through the Touch ID sensor in Macs with Touch Bars or via your iPhone. You can check out more details in our how to use PassKeys guide. It’s a little fiddly to set up initially, but after that it’s very easy to use. This is an encrypted login that seeks to eventually do away with passwords althogether. The newest weapon in this armoury is PassKeys. This is accompanied by anti-fingerprinting settings that prevent sites from looking at your hardware and software configuration to work out who you are online, plus security features that block sites that could contain malware. Privacy is an important part of Apple’s offering, with Intelligent Tracking Protection there to stop advertisers from watching what you do. You can also pin tabs within these groups and give them customised start pages too. Best of all, the Group Tabs sync to Safari on your iPhone, iPad or other Macs. Apple built on this in macOS Ventura by making these Tab Group shareable, so you can send them to friends, colleagues or family who can instantly see all the pages and links – perfect if you’re all collaborating on a project. This is useful if you’re planning a holiday, event or researching another interest. It is a handy feature that allows you to collect particular tabs together by a category of your choosing, so you don’t have to search for them among your other open tabs. With macOS Monterey, Apple introduced Tab Groups, a feature that gained even more capabilities in Ventura. There’s also now the Quick Note feature which, as the name suggests, allows you to instantly grab text or images from a webpage and have them appear (complete with links) in the Notes app. The reading mode is still one of Safari’s hidden gems, as it turns any webpage into a clean, clear article devoid of ads, links, and other distractions. As you’d expect, it boasts the standard features found on most modern browsers, including bookmarks, tabbed browsing, a password manager, private browsing options, a dark mode, read later list, plus a Shared with You section on the Home page that lists links you’ve been sent in Messages. Apple’s Safari browser has been around for a long time, and over the years it’s been improved to the point where it’s now a very solid choice for most people. In s some rare cases I encounter the problem with actually seeing the crosshair. You always point the telescope where you want and where the crosshair is. They are perfect because when they are aligned with the OTA correctly, they are excellent with high-magnification eyepieces. My personal preference is the proper finder scope, which is a little refracting telescope with a crosshair inside the eyepiece. So I hate it, and I always replace these red dot finders on the telescopes with proper finder scopes. You have to look from the same position as you did during the alignment with the optical tube. But my issue is that if you are trying to locate something and you point the telescope, especially with high magnification, when looking from slightly different angles the red dot is moving all over the place. The LED is shining on the small lens, in some cases only glass at the front and creating a little red dot in the middle. I know that there are many types of these devices, but the principle is the same. Let alone the issues with the red dot finder I don’t like using it. Here is the helpful thread on the cloudynights forum where you can find a complete guide with pictures on how to take it apart and fix it. Repeating turning the on and off the LED can also create an issue with the switch. But if the finder scope stops working after a while and it is not in the warranty anymore, check the inside. If it is from the box, just contact Celestron, and they will send you a new one. All you have to do is to remove a few screws to inspect all the inside parts.Īctually, that is more often the issue with the Celestron Star Pointer finder scope. It can be a loose wire or something burnt. If you check that and there is nothing wrong with the battery pins, it must be something inside. The problem can be somewhere else, of course. So, if you have an issue with the red dot finder, check the battery pins and contact points first. I took the red dot finder completely apart at first to see if something is wrong with the electronics inside. In my case, I discovered that there was a simple problem with an even simpler solution.īut I didn’t locate this problem right away. Don’t worry, Celestron will exchange it for the new one, which is not a big problem. It is common with Celestron Star Pointer finder scope not working from the box. The red dot finder stopped working, or it has not been working since the telescope purchase. And it is a very simple device with an LED that is almost indestructible.Īfter some google research, I found out that many people have the same problem. It was strange because I remembered that it was working perfectly when I used it last time. But to my surprise, when I replaced the old battery with the new one, the red dot finder was not working. I remembered that it had a working red dot finder, so I planned to remove it from the telescope and attach it to the toe shoe on the DSLR. So I went into the garage and took my old telescope (Bresser 70AZ Reflector) that was sitting there for a few years. It should help with aligning and framing the objects I’m shooting. One day, I decided that I would mount Red Dot Finder from my old telescope to my DSLR camera. I may receive a commission for purchases made through these links. Fourth turn: Use either of the 2 cards above that you didn't use the previous round.Third turn: Use the normal Deathblade or whatever you didn't use in the previous round. If he has a high amount of pips, use the Sharpened Deathblade. Second turn: Use either the Potent Feint or the Sharpened Deathblade. However, leave 1 Sharpened Blade and 1 Deathblade in case a blade gets stolen later in the fight. First turn: Use your sun enhancements.Don't sharpen the blade in case he steals the normal Deathblade you'll end up using. Note: You will be carrying 1 extra Sharpened Blade and 1 extra Deathblade in the rare case that the Jamburglar steals your blade. After the second turn: The Jamburglar will say "Prepare to be Jamburgled!" and cheat cast a shadow Power Nova that bypasses resists that deals about ~1,050 to you and deal 1,100 damage to himself.įor this fight, I recommend 120+% death damage, at least ~30% universal resistance, and at least 700 critical rating.First turn: The Jamburglar will say "I'm so sneaky and evil" and will cheat cast a Mana Burn that deals no damage and removes all of your pips, will cast a 99 turn version of Impede (which causes you to gain no pips), will give you 7 power pips, and stuns you.Since many people have asked about a good method to farm the Jamburglar, here's one for solo Death Wizards.įor those that don't know the cheats, here are the ones that matter: “It’s a very long and difficult process but, at the end, you have this beautiful object that looks like stained glass,” she says. The London caterer and creator Marie Cassis, 25, of the popular Instagram account, which features evocative images of her Old World recipes, returns each spring to her family’s farm in northeast Cairo to candy their small, thin-skinned clementines. She preserves Pursha limes, pomelo, Tarocco blood oranges and kumquats each winter and uses them to adorn her confections throughout the year. REFRIGERATION AND THE global produce trade may have obviated the need to preserve fresh fruit, but the British baker Stroma Sinclair, 33, the former head pastry chef at Skye Gyngell’s Spring in London, and the current cake maker at Leila’s Shop in the city’s Shoreditch neighborhood, says the process makes her more mindful about appreciating Europe’s growing seasons and the rhythms of nature. Sucket, as candied fruit was called in the Tudor era - the name is derived from the French succade and the Italian succata - was consumed with special silver forks, she says: “They had two prongs on one end to spear the flesh and a spoon on the other to ladle the syrup.” “That was really one of the first ways people consumed sugar,” says Camilla Wynne, 42, the preserving expert and author of the book “Nature’s Candy” (to be published in 2024), about the history and methods of preserving fruit. In 16th-century Elizabethan England, conspicuous displays of sugar, a pricey commodity at the time, became the ultimate boast, and banquet tables gleamed with candied fruits. The practice dates back to the ancient Romans, who preserved the summer’s bounty of dates, pears and grapes for the winter in jars of honey. “From Persia to France, everyone has their version and tradition,” says Gohar and, indeed, candied fruit goes by many names across cultures, from glacé fruit to sweetmeats to fruits confits. “Candied fruit is so luminous it has this ethereal quality when the light hits it.” Andrews in Scotland and was inspired by the Dutch golden age painter Adriaen Coorte’s hyperrealistic renderings of produce. “I positioned a spotlight over the cherries to make them really light up it was like looking at a jewel,” says Kwok, who holds a master’s degree in art history from the University of St. The 32-year-old incorporates them frequently in her work: She has arranged candied kumquats in the pattern of fish scales atop salmon fillets for an afternoon tea hosted by Prada and filled 17th-century vessels with heaps of candied clementines and yellow cherries for a Sotheby’s fete. That event was for the fashion house Loewe, but candied fruits are a signature for the Sydney-born, London-based Kwok, who trained in the Michelin-starred New York kitchens of Eleven Madison Park and Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Hand-sewn to the limbs with waxed twine by the food artist Imogen Kwok and her team, the sugar-confit-dipped pears, clementines and cherries resembled orbs of glass and were clipped off by guests with bonsai scissors for an interactive dessert course. INSIDE A GILDED Rococo room on the Avenue Montaigne in Paris, candied fruits dangled from winterberry tree branches. Now, what I personally use this tool for is indentations in a wall. Check it out in 3D mode and you’ll see we’ve made a set of stairs going upwards, you could use this to create any set of stairs anywhere. Tweak about with the settings, adding a few iterations with a sector depth of 32, increaing floor height of 8. Select just the 128 line, then click stair builder. In your 256×256 room, lets add two vertices to the wall so we have a 128 wide line with 2 64 wide lines either side. Initially we’ll use this like a stair builder, as intended. Moving on, lets look at the other type of stair builder, which I call an “extrusion tool” – instead of selecting a sector and using the tool, select a single line and use it – you’ll notice that now instead of creating a pyramid out of the room, a rectangular step is being pushed out from the wall, perfectly perpendicular from the wall. It happens more often on complex geometry, so just be careful as you go to avoid this, as you could cause problems with your map. One thing to be _very_ careful is having lines intersect – this happens when your sector depth is too large, you have too many iterations. This doesn’t matter what shape you’ve got, if you want a trim inside it, just use this tool! Done! In a few clicks you’ve had the editor draw a trim sector for you. Set it so that the sector depth is 16, 1 iteration, inside the sector, and until all the texturing options, as we can do this ourselves. Lets add a 16px trim around the edge of the room. Simple, right? So back to our 256×256 room. Regardless, use this set of options to choose which textures should be on the upper and lower sides of the steps. Be a little careful with this, leaving it on the default settings will have your step sides lower and upper unpegged, which might not be useful. If you prefer to do this by hand after the tool’s done the line-work, simple un-tick these options. Using these settings you can choose how high each step is, what texture should be on the floor/ceiling of the steps, etc. This set of options is in my opinion the main reason the tool is useful – you can use this for a number of things. You’ll be able to choose how many steps it adds, what depth these stairs should be, and which direction these stairs should go (inside the selected sectors, or outside). Starting on the left, we have the settings of the stairs themselves. don’t be intimidated by this, we’re going to break it down step by step and make it easy to work with. Now, in sectors mode, select the room, then click on the stair builder tool.Ī popup should have appeared with a range of options and settings. To start, draw a square room, say, 256×256. We’ll start with the ‘pyramid effect’ first. This tool can be used to make “pyramids” of any shape, and can also be made to make extrusions of any line. Okay so now that you have a grasp on the power of the curve linedef tool, lets meet the stair builder. With this you’ll see that 3 vertices have been placed equidistant from each other across the line. Simply select the line(s) you want to divide up, and change the settings as so: 3 vertices, circular, 0 degrees. Now that you have your room, let’s ‘slice up’ the line into multiple portions so you can texture it differently, just like the corridors in MAP01 of Doom 2 (with the tekgren variants) – you could manually draw the vertices, and when working on the 90degree grid, that’s probably just as easy, but what if your room’s at a strange angle? It can be hard to work out equal portions, so let the curve linedef tool do it for you.įor the example we’ll use a 256×256 box, and try to change each 256 line into a bunch of 64 lines. We can use this as a clever linedef splitter. There, we’ve turned a pentagon into a star! Curve the lines using: 1 vertex, fixed circle, 270 degrees. This will create perfect extrusions of the wall, turning your diamond into an “X” shape! Now, draw another diamond, curve the sides with the following settings: 2 vertices, fixed circle, 270 degrees. What we’ve done here is turn our diamond into a circle! Try playing with the settings to get a grip on what does what. It defaults to whatever settings were last used, but for this example, lets set the vertices to 3, hit the fixed circle button, then change the angle to 90. Start by drawing an equal sided diamond, then, in lines mode, select all 4 sides of the diamond and click on the “Curve Linedef” button. Let’s learn how it works by making a circle out of a diamond. The curves can be controlled extensively, by defining which direction the curve goes (inwards or outwards), how many vertices it adds (more = smoother curve) and at what angle the curve is created at. What better place to start than with the curve tool? This tool curves existing linedefs. To find out, I searched for "Notion how to" and looked at Google's predictions. I was curious about the most frequent questions asked by Notion users on Google. “I definitely found it rewarding making a difference when I worked in the ILP and PPLA Units, as I was able to work with teenagers and young adults in the Extended Foster Care Program (AB12),” says Aida. The support and training that they provided me as an undergraduate encouraged me to continue with my master’s in social work.”Īfter earning her BASW, Aida continued to work for DSS in a variety of positions-from Emergency Response and Swing Shift to Legal Guardianship, Team Decision Making and Planned Permanent Living Arrangement (PPLA)-all of which she enjoyed. The staff were very supportive as they were always willing to listen. While working on her BASW, Aida recalls, “The support that I received from the Title IV-E program was beyond just being a student. So determined was she to pursue that education that “I signed up to CSU Fresno, and despite of not meeting the four-year criteria, I was accepted,” she says proudly. “Growing up, I was told that education was the key to succeed, and I believed it,” says Aida. “I am very thankful and honored for receiving this recognition as it was rewarding work,” says Aida. Additionally, the Fresno County Board of Supervisors presented her with a resolution recognizing her CYC achievements. Within CYC I found the importance for current and former foster youth to have a voice in child welfare policy.”įor her 10 years of hard work and dedication to the organization and its members, Aida received CYC’s statewide All-Star Award. I thank CYC for all the experiences that I gained. I am honored and proud that I was a CYC member and supporter for 11 years. I had the opportunity to network with many leaders locally, statewide, and nationwide. “I learned personal and professional skills among CYC members, supporters, and staff. “Being a member of CYC is what motivated me to follow my dream,” she says. “I realized that I was able to relate to current and former foster youth, as we had common experiences such as being separated from biological family and multiple placement changes.” Looking toward her future, she says, “I wanted to advocate for child welfare and policy change so that others didn’t have to experience similar obstacles that I had to overcome.įor Aida, CYC was a catalyst for which she is profoundly grateful. “It was not until this point that I saw a great need to become a social worker,” says Aida. “Being a former foster youth mentor allowed me to gain knowledge of how diverse the field of social work is,” she says. At the time, her job responsibilities included supporting the local California Youth Connection (CYC) chapter and promoting youth participation within the Independent Living Program (ILP). “My assigned social worker believed in me and encouraged me to work with transition age youth,” she says. In fact, the entry-level job she held as a former foster youth mentor when she was 19 piqued her interest in social work. She assists in locating Resource Family Homes on behalf of minors needing placement and in providing supports and resources to county homes, besides delivering Spanish-language Resource Family Approval orientation.Ī DSS veteran, Aida has worked there since 2002. With a BASW and MSW, both earned through the Title IV-E Stipend Program at Fresno State University, Aida currently is a social worker in the Resource Family Support Placement Unit of the Fresno County Department of Social Services (DSS). “Nevertheless, I knew I wanted to succeed.”Īnd succeed she has. “I aged out of foster care with no place to go,” says Aida Chavez. |
